Justice leaves Ed Banger!

OMG! Ed Bangers’ cash cow Justice has left the Ed Banger label led by Pedro Winter aka Busy P! Ain’t that the shocker of the week? The word was out a few days ago, and it seems to be true!

This will be history...Justice & Pedro Winter

This will be history...Justice & Pedro Winter

Rolling Stone Magazine published the following:

“After five years of dormancy, Elektra Records will relaunch with a fresh roster of artists, Atlantic Records announced today in a statement. French dance duo Justice, Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo and RS Breaking artist Little Boots are among the first musicians on the label, which in the past was home to the Doors, the Eagles and Phish.”

And yes, even the website of Elektra is up-to-date: http://www.elektra.com/

Read my lipps: the pressure is on for Gaspard & Xavier as they’ve signed a contract with a Warner Music sub label (note: they already had distribution rights in several countries, so it’s not a miracle this is happening, but still, you just don’t sell your children, Pedro).

Does that mean that these shirts will be hot very soon? Could be. Or maybe not. Pedro Winter is a hell of a guy, and I’m not sure if Elektra is the next Dim Mak. I’m sure they paid a lot of money, but a transfer to a major label is not always the correct next step in music business. Fingers crossed indeed.
